Last weekend we were pumped to be involved in The Catalyst Games here in Rochester. While it was our 4th or 5th time involved, it was our first time being there as RECON Rings.
Set inside of the Gordon Field House on the campus of the Rochester Institute of Technology, this event is the most impressively organized fitness events in the region. We had a front row seat to view not only the event, but all of the efforts that went into setting up these games. We owe a huge thanks to Chad & Melissa and the army of volunteers for making it happen.
The amazing fitness event is the stage for what is really a grassroots effort to do something more. The Catalyst Games are about being a catalyst for change. This year they made an impact as the proceeds from the event went to help ROCovery fitness, a program here in Rochester to help those recovering from addictions by keeping them active with healing adventures and activities.
For us, it was a chance to reconnect with our hometown and put boots back on the ground here in Rochester. We had people walking off the fitness floor between workouts to come check out rings. We had people coming to check out the new colors. We had everybody beating the crap out of the rings and putting them through the ringer. It was awesome. It was the most fun we’ve ever had at an event and can’t wait till next year.
If you are within traveling distance of Rochester, start following this event online, as the planning is already underway for next for Catalyst 2018. You don't want to miss it.
